Franchise Concepts

Wiesenhof Coffees currently have 4 concepts that they are franchising , but are always on the look out for something new.

Café

A Wiesenhof Café is a typical Café-Coffee shop-restaurant trading out of 150 – 240 m2, and located in a range of sites such as malls, corporate HQ’s, private hospitals, airports and standalone sites. Turnkey set up costs will be of the region of R1.6 to R2.4 million ex vat.
The menu will be extensive, and with waiter service to tables thus labour costs are higher.
A full retail section may accompany this café , as in the case at private hospitals.

Refill espresso bars

A refill espresso bar is a unit occupying 30 – 45 m2 , with an associated seating area of 15 – 60 m2. It has a lower turnkey set up cost of R800 K to R1.3 million. It is located in similar locations as the Café, but would be used where more retail and take away fare are expected, in smaller sites, possibly as a second store to an existing Café, where investment is limited by space or by turnover. A smaller simpler , more take away and ready prepared menu is the norm, and service could be more counter style rather than full waiter service. Services required may be less, with a smaller or limited kitchen .

4 in 1 units

Wiesenhof have put together a solution to a market requirement; whereby a staff canteen is required by a location, but also a Café or a Refill bar, a Deli or a retail section, and a further unit such as a hot dog stall or similar small impulse takeaway fast food unit.

Mobile Coffee unit

The main location to date for this concept has been as the preferred supplier to Makro stores. Costs here, assuming that the bulk of canteen costs are paid by the lessor, are of the region of R1.8 to R2.5 million. Other sites could be Corporate head offices, Large wholesalers such as Makro, large department stores, Governmental or banking complexes etc .

Wiesenhof identified a need for a specialised mobile towed unit serving high quality coffee, and other beverages, with small snack type retail, for outside functions such as shows, sporting events, school events etc. The turnkey cost of the unit and stock would be R300 – R400 000 ex vat . These units would be designated a trading region.

Golf Estates

Wiese Coffee Holdings “golf model” forms the hub of the estate / club, the restaurant is a popular meeting place for dinner parties and drinks after a round of golf, squash or tennis. The restaurant offers a-la-carte meals and has for example special Sunday buffet’s to give mom a break and for the whole family. The business model is effective in a well suited captive market /environment with a high profile customer base. The business is diverse in 4 sections / categories – halfway house, Restaurant / bar, Events and banqueting and then add on convenience retail.

The business is generating growth, positive change & excitement within the golfing community and selecting the appropriate candidate capable of implementing necessary change.  Since taking over the management of operations at mentioned clubs we have not only improved on service delivery and product offering, we also stimulated & achieved growth of between 20% – 47%, this on the performance of the previous caterer.

Wiese Coffee Holdings main goal will be to be the preferred food and beverage “social “destination at Golf Clubs & Estates. The place to be seen. Aesthetical revamp will be needed since the current décor is old and dated at the majority of the clubs in the country.
